SENSITISATION MEETING WITH YANKWASHI LGA STAKEHOLDERS IN RESPECT OF CARAWAY AFRICA NIGERIA LIMITED (AN OLAM GROUP COMPANY)’S TOMATO PROJECT
InvestJigawa in its commitment to ensuring a friendly business environment for investors in Jigawa State, and the implementation of beneficial investment projects for communities, held a sensitisation meeting to facilitated engagement between Caraway Africa Nigeria Limited (Caraway) and stakeholders from Yankwashi LGA communities, where the company’s tomato project is based. This is to ensure continued mutually beneficial relationships. The meeting was held on the 19th of October 2022 and aimed at addressing all related issues regarding the tomato project implemented at Kuda Gangara Forest Reserve.
The chief agronomist of Olam Group, Dr. Emmanuel Sangadele, informed the meeting that Caraway, a subsidiary of Olam Group, has made significant progress since the commencement of its operations in 2021, engaging thousands of farmers on an out-grower basis and recording an average of 35 tons per hectare. The company is planning to expand its operation in the upcoming dry season of 2022.
