2ND NOVEMBER 2023: INSPECTION OF ONGOING CONSTRUCTION OF FUMIGATION CHAMBER AT MAIGATARI EXPORT PROCESSING ZONE
Officials from InvestJigawa and the State Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau were at Maigatari Export Processing Zone (EPZ) on November 2, 2023 to assess progress regarding the ongoing construction of a fumigation chamber by the State, and ensure adherence to project timelines. The progress so far showcases significant strides towards the completion of the project within the stipulated time.
With the development, and Jigawa State being the number one producer of hibiscus in Nigeria, the goal of the State Government is to soon make Jigawa Nigeria’s hub for the production and processing of hibiscus, which would then be exported directly from the Maigatari EPZ. On the EPZ itself, the Jigawa State government has been working with the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) to make sure it operates at an optimum level.
