INVESTJIGAWA MEETS WITH BASIC ENGINEERING NIGERIA LIMITED ON THE COMPANY’S INTEGRATED SUGAR FACTORY AND SUGARCANE FARM

On the 15th of September 2022, Chairman of the InvestJigawa Council His Excellency Deputy Governor Malam Umar A Namadi, DG InvestJigawa and her team, and Secretary to the State Technical Committee on Agriculture held a meeting with Basic Engineering Limited to review the progress and discuss fast-tracking of implementation of the company’s integrated sugar project in Hadejia LGA. Representing the company were Hafiz Muhammad and the company’s consultant Hamid Al-Sharif of Kenana Engineering and Technical Services West Africa (KETSWA).

The sugar project was initiated by Jigawa State Government in 2005, and was purchased by Basic Engineering Nigeria Limited in 2013. On completion, the project will provide about 800 permanent and 350 seasonal jobs. His Excellency assured of all necessary support of the Jigawa State Government as the company proceeds with the actualisation of the project.
