28TH JUNE 2022: JIGAWA STATE GOVERNMENT TEAM ATTENDS FCDO-ORGANISED OFF-GRID SOLAR INVESTMENT FORUM
A team from Jigawa State led by Furera Isma Jumare, the Director General of InvestJigawa attended the FCDO-organized Off-Grid Solar (OGS) Investment Forum in Abuja. Also on the team were the Agency’s Secretary/Legal Adviser Barrister Muhammad Tahir, Managing Director of the State’s Rural Electrification Board Engineer Sani Zubairu, and Akilu Badakaya, Director Solar of the Jigawa State Alternative Energy Agency. The presentation by the Director General unveiled Jigawa State’s recently adopted Off-Grid Solar policy and outlined why investors should key into the renewable energy space in the state, especially the provision of off-grid solar solutions to unserved and underserved areas. Jigawa state is endowed with the key ingredient for effective provision of solar energy – it is in the zone with the highest irradiance in Nigeria. Apart from that, the State has an investor-friendly government led by the Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar (MON) mni.
