INVESTJIGAWA TRAINS FEMALE EXPORTERS ON EXPORT READINESS, LICENSING AND QUALITY COMPLIANCE
As part of its commitment to promoting inclusive economic growth and expanding access to international markets, the Jigawa State Investment Promotion Agency (InvestJigawa) successfully hosted a specialized capacity-building programme for selected female exporters drawn from various Local Government Areas across the State.
The training focused on export readiness, licensing requirements, product quality standards, and regulatory compliance, with the objective of equipping women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools required to participate effectively in regional and international trade.
The programme brought together facilitators and technical experts from key federal agencies responsible for export regulation and trade facilitation, including the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
During the sessions, participants received practical guidance on export procedures, product certification, customs documentation, quality assurance requirements, packaging standards, market access opportunities, and the various licenses required for the export of agricultural and value-added products.
Speaking at the event, representatives of InvestJigawa reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and supporting the State Government’s agenda of creating a conducive environment for business growth, investment promotion, and economic diversification.
The training forms part of InvestJigawa’s broader strategy to strengthen the capacity of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), enhance non-oil exports, and position Jigawa State as a competitive destination for trade and investment.
Participants expressed appreciation to the Agency and the partnering institutions for providing the opportunity to acquire critical knowledge that will enable them to meet regulatory requirements, improve the quality of their products, and access lucrative export markets.
InvestJigawa remains committed to fostering sustainable economic development by building the capacity of local businesses, promoting export-oriented enterprises, and creating pathways for women and youth to participate meaningfully in the global economy.
