Jigawa State Government, which is the largest producer of hibiscus flower (“zoborodo”), has signed an MOU with Comttraex Nigeria Limited to enter a PPP arrangement which will unlock the State’s hibiscus potentials by developing the value chain. Facilitated by InvestJigawa, the partnership will include establishing a cleaning and processing facility for the flower, and trading the commodity under the brand name “Comttra Jigawa”.

His Excellency Muhammad Badaru Abubakar (MON) mni., Governor of Jigawa State has been a champion for the project. Subsequent to a meeting between him and Comttraex Nigeria Limited yesterday, a progress review meeting was held with the company at InvestJigawa for the purpose of fast-tracking implementation of the project. When the project is fully implemented Jigawa State will become a hub for hibiscus production, processing and potentially export.
