InvestJigawa Leads Stakeholder Sensitization on GNA 2026 Land Clearance

Gagarawa, Jigawa State – January 2026

InvestJigawa, under the leadership of Director General Hajiya Aisha Sheikh Mujaddadi, has convened a landmark stakeholder sensitization session on GNA 2026 land clearance at the Gagarawa Town Hall.

This engagement marks a critical step in preparing Jigawa State for the upcoming Global North Agribusiness (GNA) 2026 projects, ensuring that land clearance processes are conducted in line with the state’s Framework for Responsible and Inclusive Land-Intensive Agricultural Investments (FRILIA).

Key Highlights

  • Stakeholder Sensitization: Community leaders, government agencies, and agribusiness investors gathered to discuss transparent and inclusive approaches to land clearance.
  • FRILIA Alignment: The session reinforced Jigawa’s Executive Order No. 2 of 2024, which established FRILIA as the guiding framework for responsible land-intensive investments.
  • Toolkit Launch: Participants were introduced to the newly released Stakeholder Engagement Toolkit, designed to provide practical guidance for consultations, grievance redress, and community participation.
  • Inclusive Growth: DG Mujaddadi emphasized that responsible land clearance is not only about investment readiness but also about empowering local communities and safeguarding their rights.

Statement from DG Mujaddadi

“Our vision is to make Jigawa a model for responsible agribusiness investment in Nigeria. By aligning GNA 2026 land clearance with FRILIA principles and equipping stakeholders with practical toolkits, we are ensuring that growth is both inclusive and sustainable.”
