Executive Summary

Throughout July 2025, InvestJigawa led and facilitated a series of high-impact engagements designed to accelerate investment, promote inclusive development, and strengthen collaboration between government, private investors, and host communities. The month’s activities focused heavily on agricultural transformation, industrial expansion, and stakeholder inclusion across key local government areas.  

1. Stakeholder Engagement on Forest Reserve Land (July 12)

Locations: Kafin Hausa and Albasu (Sule Tankarkar LGA)
Purpose: Stakeholder sensitization and early engagement
Participants:

  • Host community representatives
  • Local government officials
  • Traditional leaders
  • Delegates from HUSSAL and ARRAYYAN

Outcome:
This engagement served as an early platform to foster transparency and trust ahead of project mobilization. Dialogue centered on community inclusion, land-use understanding, and conflict prevention. The initiative demonstrated InvestJigawa’s commitment to participatory development.

2. Investor Engagement: GNA Sugar Project Meeting (July 23)

Location: Government House, Dutse
Lead: Deputy Governor of Jigawa State
Project: GNA Sugar Project, Gagarawa LGA
Key Participants:

  • GNA Sugar Company executives
  • Traditional rulers
  • Community leaders
  • State officials

Highlights:

  • Updates on project progress and community involvement
  • Concerns around land encroachment and communication gaps
  • Proposals for site visits and review of past agreements

Resolution:
A joint commitment to peaceful collaboration and transparent operations moving forward.

3. Alyaseen Agri Ltd. Trade Mission (July 20–23)

Delegation Lead: Al Ramadan Mohammed Sadek, Managing Director
Host: Jigawa State Government and InvestJigawa
Purpose: Exploration of investment in sustainable agriculture

Key Activities:

  • Strategic briefing at InvestJigawa led by DG Hajiya Aisha Sheikh Mujaddadi
  • Courtesy call to Governor Umar A. Namadi
  • Site visits to:

4. Private Sector Familiarization Tours

Day 1: July 15, 2025

Purpose:
To deepen dialogue with established private sector actors, understand operational realities, and address barriers to scale.

✅ Danmodi Food Processing
✅ WACOT
✅ Matura Agro Resource Ltd.

Outcome:

  • Strengthened partnerships with existing investors
  • Reaffirmed government commitment to enabling business growth
  • Practical insights gathered for refining investment policies
